Software

NOTE:

The 0.1.x releases are early prototype and reference implementations. They are incomplete in functionality, have known deficiences and can be generally cranky beasts to deal with. They are being made in the OSS spirit of 'release early and release often'. They are not recommended for use in a production environment.

Requirements

The Hurderos Project stands on the shoulders of and integrates a number of powerful Open-Source and Open-Architecture tools. The project policy will be to always specify the reference platform that the current release is based on.

Release History and Notes

Version 0.1.0 of the Hurderos Project was released on July 4th, 2004. The text of the announcement is available here.

Vesion 0.1.1 of the Hurderos Project was released on July 30th, 2004. Major changes include:

Added template directory structure to KerDAP/include for MIT Kerberos internal headers.
Added krb5hdrs script with Makefile support to populate MIT Kerberos internal headers directory.
Removed dependencies on AbsoluteLayout.jar and re-worked numerous layout screens to not use GridBagLayout.
Implemented install target for build system.
Updated BUILD and INSTALL documentation.

Version 0.1.2 of the Hurderos Project was released on October 3rd, 2004. Major changes include:

Validated against Postgres 7.4.3.
Fixed client side GSSAPI name creation. Connections now work to foreign hosts.
Removed commented instances of ISMEcom constructor calls. These had been commented when ISMEcom was updated to support secured communication contexts.
Dropped crufty unused Java code.
Cleaned out references to deprecated Java methods.
Updated build process to use MIT Kerberos 1.3.5.
Implemented new Property display widget for identity elements.
Login screen acquires Kerberos credentials if administrator identity and password is specified.
isme invocation wrapper uses Postgresql jar file found in $prefix/lib if available.
